Mimi's ceremony took place on the grounds of Escalen Hot Springs, that became The Escalen Institute, the epicenter of the Human Potential Movement. In 1968 The Big Sur Folk Festival was being held there, with the deck of the pool overlooking the sea being the stage. Mimi Farina is Joan Baez's sister, and Joan was the Matron of Honor and both of them performed in the unique and intimate festival. Standing to David's left is Catherine Kellison, my dear friend and fellow adventurer, who later produced several videos in which she interviewed iconic film legends: "Vincent Price: Working with Vincent Price," and "Frank Capra: Collaboration." The Festival was not unlike a roost of nearby Monarch butterflies - fleeting golden moments, soaring above the gnarly sea cliffs, set to song in those halycon days of the late Sixties in California.
